I'll be brief.
VERY brief, actually.
For what I am about to share truly speaks for itself.
I want to share a song with you. Surprise, surprise, right? :) The song is called Spaseniye Sodelal. Or if you aren't a Russian translator, Salvation Is Created. This stunning choral piece was written by Pavel Tchesnokov in 1912. It was one of the very last sacred works he composed before he was forced to turn to secular arts by the Soviet government. Sadly, he never heard his own composition performed.
I want you to focus on the words and (more importantly) the incredible soul-saving concept behind the words: (translated to English) "Salvation is made in the midst of the earth, O God. Alleluia." It's far too easy to read over a lyric like this and fail to acknowledge the overwhelming nature of this incredible truth found in 1st John 1:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
With all the dark events happening all around the globe right now, it's such a comfort for me to remember that Jesus Christ is truly the only One who can bring life and light to all mankind. Let's share that good news, shall we!?
And now, without further ado, please enjoy this wonderful rendition of a piece that masterfully depicts lyric via music...
